Bodyscape Art and Photography | Orlando, Florida
Every one of us has unique things we love and inspire us. For this reason I like to provide different services and styles for my clients to choose from. While boudoir photography has many different layers, some photographers focus on only a few of the styles. I, on the other hand, hope to always be an expert in all of them. Boydscape is a newer theme within boudoir that focuses mainly on the body as a landscape. It shows the beauty in curves and how everything in nature connects back to us. Our body is our temple, sacred and home. This type of photography encapsulates this with closeups and focus on lighting and shadows that will have viewers doing a double take on the images. At first unsure if they are viewing mountains and valleys and earth, or the landscape of a human body.
Bodyscape photography stemmed from boudoir as the mystery of the photographs have a sensual appeal. The fact that the image is incognito creates an even closer connection to art lovers as there is a story that is withheld; creating interest. I shoot bodyscapes mainly in black and white low light photography to really emphasize the mystery and sensuality.
The option is always left for the clients of course, and what their ideal finished product should look like. I encourage them for clients that are athletes to showcase their goals and achievements, but they are also perfect for every one and make for unique maternity shots. These images make a great statement piece for homes on larger scaled prints on canvas which is what my clients tend to prefer. I often discuss with them what they’re looking to shoot and have them look through samples to get a feel for what they would like best during their session. This style of photography can be shot by itself or also added on as part of a standard boudoir shoot. From my experience, the more my clients can get out of a session the better! But we can always focus on just bodyscapes if that is the primary goal.
The passion for bodyscapes comes from art that’s been around for centuries. Sculptures used to focus on specific areas of the body for some of the most famous works as it brought more attention to it. Whether the focus was on the torso, legs, hands, shoulders and necks, the goal was always to bring all attention to one place and admire the curves of the human body. Today I view sculptures as inspiration for bodyscape shoots and the intriguing idea behind it.
We often admire the earth with all of its different shapes and textures and with a closer look realize we, too, aren’t much different. Using shadows and light and posing, the body can be shot to showcase a landscape of its own and that to me is powerful.
These photoshoots can be very fun and empowering for my clients and their uniqueness make it for a great session. While photography continues to grow in popularity, going with a style that is unique is important for creativity and feeling one of a kind. Get a photo session that feels right to you with an experienced professional for unforgettable artistic images.
