Although the common belief exists that boudoir tends to be sexy, it can also very well be sensual and classy. It all depends on posing and, in this case, lighting. With low key lighting one can highlight areas of the body to create a moody set of photos, highlighting the natural beauty of the body while leaving areas to be discovered. When doing low-key lighting photos the key is to pose in a way that highlights some areas of the body with leaving the rest in the shadows, using lighting as a means to cover and/or reveal. I tell my clients to pose in a way that accentuates the collarbone, followed by the chest area and shoulders. These areas work well with the mood that the black and white theme establishes. Furthermore, I always suggest using oil to make the skin look silky and soft. While close-up shots are very popular when using this type of lighting, full-body shots can be achieved as well.
